Glossary Of Terms for Training Logs

Glossary of Terms:

In my Training Log, I tend to use abbreviations to save time and space
 in my log book. I intend to do the same here. If you have questions on

O-lifting= Olympic Weightlifting

S= Snatch

HPS= Hang Power Snatch

PS= Power Snatch

SS= Squat Snatch (same as S= Snatch)

HSS= Hang Squat Snatch

MS= Muscle Snatch

OHS= Overhead Squat

BPOHS= Bottom Position Overhead Squat- Start from Bottom Position with bar on blocks

SB= Snatch Balance

MP= Military Press

PP= Push Press

PJ= Push Jerk

J= Jerk

C= Clean

C&J= Clean and Jerk

PC= Power Clean

HPC= Hang Power Clean

SC= Squat Clean

HSC= Hang Squat Clean

MC= Muscle Clean

FS= Front Squat

BPFS= Bottom Position Front Squat – Start off pins in Power Rack from Bottom Position

BS= Back Squat

BPBS= Bottom Position Back Squat – Start off pins in Power Rack from Bottom Position

HP= Hi-Pull

SGHP = Snatch Grip Hi-Pull

CGHP= Clean Grip Hi-Pull (usually synonomous w/ HP)

DL= Deadlift

SGDL= Snatch Grip Deadlift

SLDL= Stiff-legged Deadlift

RDL= Romanian Deadlift

Bar Throws = I have an old beat up Olympic bar, I go outside and throw it for height, to train explosiveness for the O-Lifts
